Topic Investigating Work Related Deaths in Maryland
Join us for an informative presentation about the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s (OCME) forensic investigation process. Forensic investigations are conducted for deaths that are sudden and unexpected, result from injury, occur under unexplained or suspicious circumstances to determine a cause and manor of death. These investigations may include an assessment by an OCME forensic investigator, autopsy, and radiology and laboratory tests. This presentation will concentrate on the OCME forensic investigator’s assessment.
Our presenters will be Courtney Manzo, MS, ABMDI-F, and Abby Glenn, MS, ABMDI-F, who serve as Deputy Chief Forensic Investigators with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) for the State of Maryland. Together, they supervise more than 100 City and County Forensic Investigators across the state. With over 20 years of experience each, they have collectively conducted more than 10,000 death investigations.
