Tell us a little about yourself
I am from Sykesville, Maryland, and I went to school at Slippery Rock University to study Safety Management. I started college at my local community college for a year and then went to SRU for two years. I was able to graduate with my bachelor’s degree in only 3 years of college.
Any tips or advice for new members?
My advice for new ASSP members is to get as involved as you can in anything and everything safety. It will help in your career, even if you have been in the profession a long time. This is the type of profession where you never stop learning new things, because there is so much involved in what we do.
What made you choose a career in safety?
One thing that I love about being a safety professional is being able to meet people from all different backgrounds and ages. It is really interesting getting to know how people came to work at a company and their title.
What is your go-to comfort food?
My go to comfort food is Chick-Fil-A, and I usually either get a sandwich or nuggets with fries. I eat there usually at least once a week.
